Meg the Babysitter

Tonight we had a bit of an emergency. My husband's regular car is getting some body work done and since it is a favor for a favor - its taking awhile they started two weeks ago) to fix TWO doors that someone (thank goodness it wasn't ME) hit with a snowplow truck last winter. So my husband has been driving a truck he picked up to tow the trailer for the go-karts.
Anyhow, back to the drama. I ran to the store and came back. Someone came and dropped off their car for my husband to work on their vehicle tomorrow. He had to pull up our other two cars to fit this one in the driveway. When he did that, he notice break fluid was leaking from the truck and he is still really mad about it as I type this.
So thinking quick, I said "How about I run you to work, you can work on both vehicles tomorrow and I can bring you and the scout to the truck on Saturday morning early. After a little coaxing, he agreed.
The scout was getting ready for bed and was in the shower. I told him what happened and that I would call the neighbor and she would be available in case of an emergency. He said OK, but still sounded a bit uneasy. I asked if he wanted Meg to come over and "babysit" and he said yes! - so Precious (above) came over to babysit for about 45 mins. We came home, she was fast asleep on her wag bag in his room and so was he. It took almost another half hour and 3 treats to get her back out of his room - what can I say, she likes us - she really likes us!

Messages to my neighbor

Message #1 first thing this morning.

Subject: Storm

Hey, I woke up at 5:30 thinking of Robert this
morning. (normally my son and I wake up and think of Meg)
After I checked the radar and found that all
these storms probably missed him, I then thought of
our little girl. (that's Meg - her dog, the black on in the photo)

I have an appointment at 1:30 - but if I am home for
round 2 this afternoon, I'll go get her.

Message #2
Subject: Thunder

and lightening - ooh baby!
So we got the girl at the first sound of thunder.
Fortunately, a bit of a break and we got a pee and a
poop out. Then Seamus barked to come out and they ran
around together, after Seamus took off with Megs ball
around the house. HA

So I put them in the basement after a second warning
of thunder and turned on the stereo for Meg. A CD
came on... Love Love you too (Beetles) Double HA

So Meg is on the wag bag downstairs and Seamus was
near by.....the are still listening to the Beetles CD
downstairs and I was able to have an important call
with no heavy breathing. Triple HA

(note: Meg has anxiety and breathes heavy a lot)

Sometimes I send her messages that say two poops and three pee's. I wonder what her IT department thinks

Note: Sorry about the paragraphs not lining up, I also get an error code on uploading two different photos. (throws hands up in the air) I give up on this blogger thing.

1 BUTT, 2 BUTTS, 3 BUTTS - NO MORE!

Our dog Seamus (the golden) looooveess to have his butt scratched. He comes by to say hello, then slowly, ever so slowly turns around having you scratch his side and then when you just get to his butt - he backs in to position for a nice butt scratch.

My neighbor and I notice how each of our dogs, picks up each others habits. So one day I was scratching Meg and all of a sudden, I realized she slowly turns and "backs into position". So now she does the same as Seamus and expects a butt scratch - at least hers is not as hairy.

THEN, one day last week, I was laying on the couch and the cat comes by for a pet. Next thing I realize he "back into position" and was enjoying a butt scratch too.

Let me tell you, I'm going to STOP when it comes to my husband or son.

The Ladies Lounge

My neighbor and I sit out regularly. The dogs will have their little "Cheweeze" treat and us ladies have our grown up little "smokey treat" tea and/or beer.

With the cold weather, my neighbor set up shop in her garage.. We have a table, chairs and have added some
lights for ambiance. We even found
a disco light.

She added a little blanket for her dog (aka the princess)

The other night, she gave me two roses,
left over from work - our little table
and evening was very quaint!

Too bad Seamus won't come in our cozy little Ladies Lounge - oh that's right -- no boys allowed in the "Ladies Lounge"!

Kid's say the cutest things.....

I was just deleting the gazillion emails to my neighbor and found one I sent to her. (My son dog sits a couple times a week)

He said...

Mom, You know how Meg always spins her tail around like a plane propeller?
Well if she held it up higher, and she flew around like a helicopter - wouldn't that be funny?

Too funny!

My mom always says.....

My mind changes like the weather in Wisconsin.
Thursday was a lovely day. 1/2 day of school, my son and his friend spent over two hours outside riding bikes, and chopping away what remaining ice we had on our driveway skirt. These tulips coming up were a sure sign of spring!

Friday sure had mother nature mad for some reason. Snowstorm hit with a total of 13 inches of snow. We broke a record and are now placed in the number two spot of the most snow in a winter season in Wisconsin. Our winter total is 93.3 inches.

At about 9:30 last night, it started snowing harder again, I ran out of gas with the snow blower, after 4 driveways/sidewalks and decided to give up. This morning I woke to another couple of inches. As you can see, it was a bright sunny warm day! Great for building a snowfort and chasing sticks or even a belly rub!

So much for the weather in Wisconsin!
