BEST husband award goes to......

Mine - at least for this week. Last night while I was out, and after working all day I found out this morning he did 7 loads of laundry. Not only did he wash them, he folded them AND put them all way.

(yipee!!)

ROTFLMAO

For anyone that does not know what that means - it is Rolling on the Floor Laughing my A$$ off! I gotta tell you, I literally was. I was watching the news this morning and they showed President Bush giving a speech. He stated that no presidential candidates came to the dinner that night - He knew John McCain was trying to distance himself from him. Even his daughter Jenna was moving out. (I start busting a gut here). THEN he says that Mrs. Clinton couldn't make it because she couldn't get past the sniper fire (I'm loosing it now) AND then he says that Osbama wasn't there because he was in church! By then I'm in gales of laughter, in the bedroom and can not stop. The cat comes to see what's wrong and finally the dog comes into the bedroom.

I tell this story to my girlfriend, again can not stop laughing... I just told my husband and laughed almost as hard. He didn't see the humor in it like me!

I think I really am into politics... (laughing AGAIN)

The BESt Birthday Party Ever

Our Birthday Party this year was spent at Discovery World Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We didn't have anything organized, just went down and hung out at the museum. The boys played on the ship the Challenge and pretended to be pirate and dumped water from the "sinking ship".

The Challenge is a ship that is still in the bottom of Lake Michigan.

We played with weights and pulley's.
Took a cool group photo.
Had a delicious BBQ.
and after a 5-1/2 hour birthday party, called it a day!

Happy 11 years son!

Customer Service

is lacking these days - but I have to point out a unique situation that happened this week. Thursday night we went out to dinner at Bravo! located at Bayshore Mall.

My son picked the restaurant and the reason for the mid week dinner was to celebrate some excellent grades and WKCE and Iowa Basic tests. My husband is an unusually picky eater and grumbled about not going to Perkins or Bakers Square. I told him he could order off the children's menu if it was that much of a problem for him, drove to the restaurant, as I didn't want any complaining about parking - I grumbled to myself from the Kohl's parking lot to the restaurant in the pouring rain. My goal here, is to stop the limited eating for my son - whom is learning this from my husband.

Anyhow, we settle in, ordered and our dinner arrived. My husband had ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza and I added - make sure there were no peppers on it. Sure enough, the pizza came with the banana peppers listed on the menu. A server deliverers your meal, he got our waitress rather quickly when we brought the error to his attention. She came over, remembered I specifically said no peppers and said she would get the pizza remade in four minutes. No problem, I was satisfied with how it was handled; then the Manager came by - apologized and offered for us to take the incorrect pizza home and said the the new pizza would be made rather quickly. He came back again and delivered the new pizza - shocking I know. The real kicker was when we got our bill, the pizza was taken off the bill.

None of this we asked for. Honestly, we didn't make a big deal about the pizza being wrong - other than bringing it to their attention. I haven't had this kind of customer service in years.

I hope this is a trend that is coming back!

What do you want to talk about?

I'm a little brain dead this week, so open discussion. Anyhow have anything on their mind they want to chat about?

Kung Foo

Saturday I took my son to a Lutheran Church in Glendale to meet the WB Kung Foo club. It is a club that does practice the Chinese Dragon Dance, and performs it in the community. They also practice the martial arts - Kung Foo. It is self-defense.

The group is a small one. Four members were there, as well as two new students that looked to be about high school age. They went through a variety of exercises, including blocking a hit, jabbing someone in the stomach with three fingers and how to hurt someone by hitting them in the hand so they are paralyzed in pain.

Sounds pretty intense for a 5th grader hey? When you have problems at school with bullying you get to a point in life where enough is enough and we have had enough. Today we had a substitute teacher in art class. A regular physical abuser shoved my son. My son did the three finger jab to the stomach, unfortunately not hard enough. The other student twisted his arm back and my son stepped on his foot really hard. Then he said "Ouch, what did you do that for?". HA I can't wait for another lesson and for this to happen again.

Oh, the teacher just "spoke" with the student. YUP - that's pretty much all this school is good for. I've gone to the police too . So if you live in Wisconsin, please contact your Assembly Person and Senate and make sure that the Senate Bill 40 on bullying gets past this 2009 session. It will be the third year they have tried to get the bill to pass. Meanwhile, we will be practicing our Kung Foo every Saturday, as matters are in our own hands now.

So Proud

My son will be turning 11 at the end of this month. I can not tell you how proud I am of him today. He took the Red Cross babysitting course. It was a whole day affair - 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. They learned first aid, diaper changing, home safety - you name it. I don't know why, but I am just so proud of him.

Well done son!

Trapper Keepers

Remember the trapper keeper? You tube is great for looking up old commercials - especially if you grew up in the '80's. You can view the Trapper Keeper Video here.

I couldn't believe they still sell them. Check out their website at http://www.trapperkeeper.com/

April 1, 2008

No April Fools Day jokes here. I just wanted to remind everyone to vote today, definately if you are from Milwaukee County.

As my son left for school today, I said "Good-bye, I love you and don't assume anyone will stop for you." - first day of the season on his bike.

What did they always say on Hill Street Blues - Becareful out there!
